Eating in Ukraine
Ukraine is one of those European countries I’ve read a lot about and am very intrigued by, but haven’t yet had a chance to visit. I’m doubly intrigued after reading a recent post on member blog Europe Up Close on Feasting Our Way Thru Kiev and Odessa.
The post follows a trip to these two popular Ukrainian cities in search of not the touristy meals but the restaurants where you could feast on home-style Ukrainian foods.
The post features three great suggestions for restaurants in Kiev and one in Odessa, all tried and tested! There are a variety of mainly meat dishes to try including various Ukrainian specialties like cured pork fat, and more than one instance of home-made liqueurs and other alcohol. Oh, and the local version of what we call chicken Kiev also appropriately rates a mention.
Check our previous post on Odessa for some more information on this seaside town and of course our entire collection of Ukraine tips to help you plan your journey.
