Nicknamed “The Air Capital of the World” Wichita is the largest and populous city in Kansas. It offers all the amenities of a big city thus giving a feel of a small-town. The Original Pizza Hut

Do you know that the leading fast food chain “Pizza Hut” was once a small pizza shop in Wichita? It was started by two brothers named Frank Carney and Dan Carney who were studying at Wichita State University back in 1958.

The building’s owner was looking for a nice neighborhood business and Frank and Dan took benefit of the opportunity. Now, it’s a worldwide known fast food chain with franchises in almost every country’s big cities.

Situated on the Fairmount St, the shop remains preserved to demonstrate Pizza Hut as an example of Frank and Dan’s hard work and success.

Botanica Gardens

Situated on Amidon St, Botanica covers about 20 acres of Wichita land. You will find a tropical greenhouse, a rock garden, a juniper garden, indoor butterfly house, the Shakespeare garden and many others.

There’s a large ground maintained for kids to become acquainted with nature. It’s so large that hundreds of families can sit and have meals.

Great Plains Nature Center

The large complex within the Great Plains area provides an opportunity for the people to roam throughout the ecosystem preserves. You will find literature and educational material that provides information about the area’s natural abilities and regional specifications.

Museum of World Treasures

The Museum of World Treasure is a large world history museum that showcases a varied array of subjects, characters, and eras. On the first floor, you will find dummies of three large dinosaurs including a tyrannosaurus, ancient Roman coins, Egyptian mummy and information on the world’s ancient civilizations.

The second floor features military history, ancient war artifacts, notable world leaders, historical royalty and displays including signatures from every American president.

The third floor is dedicated to the artifacts of ancient times also the displays of pop culture icons including movie memorabilia and sports artifacts.

The Museum’s goal is to provide an atmosphere where people could learn about the ancient times and the historical figures. Also, it hosts Discovery programs including lectures, presentations, and workshops.
