It is originally an ancient pre-Columbian city, built by the Maya people during the Terminal Classic Period. Some of the attractions include, artifacts of gold, silver and jade, and the el Castillo dominates the view, along with many other archaeological sites. This is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
This is a cenote or a natural well that is almost 40 meters deep and is open for public swimming. It is part of the Ik Kil National Park. There are vines and small waterfalls all around the cenote. This particular cenote was considered sacred by the Mayans and a Mayan ruin can also be found.

This is the longest shopping district in Mexico and Mexican artifacts are found here along with Mayan souvenirs. There are various kinds of arts and traditional items sold throughout this district which is topped off with traditional Mexican food stalls.
