St.Moritz was named after Saint Maurice and is a resort town in the Engadine valley in Switzerland. St.Moritz hosted the Winter Olympics in 1928 and 1948. It is a popular destination for the upper class and international jet set as well as is among the most expensive ski resorts in the world.
With a surface lesser than 0.78 km2 it is smaller than the main lakes. Every January and February Polo matches are held on the frozen lake. Horse races are also held on this lake since 1907. The first ice cricket tournament was also held in 1988.
This is a mountain on the Albula Alps in Switzerland, overlooking St.Moritz, in the canton of Graubunden. The peak is accessible with the help of a cable car and it unloads 30 metres below the summit. It hosted the skiing events during the Winter Olympics.
It is a location on the eastern slopes of Piz Nair which lies on the watershed between the rivers Schlattain and the Ovel da la Resgia at an altitude of 2486 meters. This is also the largest skiing area and hosts alpine skiing events.
Celerina Olympic Bobrun
Its St.Moritz’s bobsleigh track, which was constructed in 1903 and officialy opened on New Years day of 2014. This is also the oldest bobsleigh track on the world and is the only one that is naturally refrigerated. It is also used by tourists for other ice sports like luge and skeleton.
Hahnensee is a lake with a panoramic view of the alpine landscape at a height of 2153 m above sea level in the Grisons. The area is accessible through hiking trails in summer and a refreshing 9 km skirun from Piz Corvatsch in winter.
It is a mountain on the Albula Alps overlooking the Julier pass. The peak stands at a height of 3380 meters and is the second highest peak in the range. Piz julier can be summited by experienced hikers.
Tschima da Flix
This is a mountain located between the Piz Calderas and Piz d’Angel. There is a glacier to the north of this peak which is named as Vadret da Calderas.The west face of the mountain is made primarily of broken rocks but however it serves as one of the classic ski routes in the area.
The Bernina range is a mountain range in the Alps and is considered to be part of the Rhaetian Alps. It is one of the highest ranges of the Alps covered with many glaciers. The highest peak of the range is Piz Bernina at 4000 meters.
